One of the most exciting developments in the online video streaming sector next to Flashcom is Flash PHP Streaming. It works by “indexing” an FLV in post-production via a simple application and effectively makes a progressively downloaded Flash Video file “seekable”.
What does that mean? You can fast forward to any section of the movie without having to wait for it to download. And there’s no need for an expensive streaming server. Beautiful.

I started a search on creative commons for free icons and came across the fabulous FAMFAMFAM and Graphic Push blogs which both offer some fantastic free icons.

A new set of VoIP telephony callback services is emerging. Two examples:
Jajah - http://www.jajah.com/
Estara - http://www.estara.com/
They are very simple to use, especially jajah which seems to be geared at quick consumer adoption whereas estara is geared more towards enterprises, invites you to try their service. Simply type your telephone number into one field, type the person’s number you are trying to call into the other, click call, and jajah will do the rest. Your phone rings, their phone rings and voilá, you are enjoying
reduced calling rates (around 0,02c/minute for international landline calls).
Many similar services will be emerging over the next months, with additional features which allow you access VoIP networks such as jajah and estara’s push-to-talk without even needing to access your PC or the Internet.

A word of warning by Pete Townshend, The Who:
“I have unwittingly helped to invent and refine a type of music that makes its principal components deaf,” he said on his Web site. “Hearing loss is a terrible thing because it cannot be repaired. If you use an iPod or anything like it, or your child uses one, you MAY be OK … But my intuition tells me there is terrible trouble ahead.”

Dec. 31st 20:41pm GMT+1. The new blog is born. I will spend the last days of my holiday configuring and getting to use this new platform. I chose WordPress because it seems like a great balance of blog and CMS. So far I havnt regretted my choice. I was lucky enough to choose to start my new site the same day v2.0 came out, and I can tell you, it looks pretty damn sweet!
Anyways, now its time to partyyyyyyyy
Happy 2006 everyone!
